About the Role
Responsibilities (Duties of this position are included but not limited to):
Provide skilled Pediatric Occupational Therapy intervention to address various developmental and behavioral needs for the pediatric population relating to cognitive function, fine motor skills, gross motor skills and social skills.
Consult with patients to learn about their physical condition and symptoms
Review medical history and referrals from doctors/surgeons
Develop and implement individualized occupational therapy treatment plans that focus on rehabilitation
Work directly with patients to achieve maximum physical recovery and quality care
Advise, coach and teach patients therapeutic exercises and stretches to improve condition
Evaluate effects of therapy treatment and communicate patients' progress
Record and document patient care services | Track goals and progress while adapting treatment
Collaborate with other team personnel to achieve well-rounded care
Provide a clean, safe, effective environment for occupational therapy and rehabilitation
Requirements
Certification in Pediatric Occupational Therapy
Bachelor’s Degree from an Accredited Program
Current Pediatric Occupational Therapy license for the state of New Mexico
Previous experience in occupational therapy, rehabilitation, or other related field
Possess and enhances up-to-date knowledge of treatment practices
Ability to handle physical workload
Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients
Ability to demonstrate compassion and empathy for patients
Demonstrates a “servitude” attitude
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong time management skills to manage daily case load
Strong leadership qualities
Basic computer skills
Perform related duties as required
