Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pediatric Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our multidisciplinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pediatric speech and language development, with a focus on providing individualized therapy to children with various communication disorders. The SLP will assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders in children ranging from infants to adolescents.

About the Role

Responsibilities (Duties of this position are included but not limited to):

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders in children.

  • Specialized training and experience in feeding and swallowing therapy.

  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment results and patient needs.

  • Provide direct therapy to children with a variety of communication disorders, including articulation, phonology, fluency, voice, and language delays.

  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including occupational therapists, and physical therapists, to provide holistic care.

  • Educate and provide resources to families on communication strategies and techniques to support their child's development.

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.

  • Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and continuing education opportunities to enhance professional development.

  • Stay current with research and best practices in pediatric speech-language pathology.

Requirements

Education and Other Requirements:

  • Certification of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association.

  • Master’s degree in Speech-language pathology or communicative disorders from an accredited program.

  • New Mexico license in Speech-Language Pathology dispensed by the New Mexico Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology Board.


Required Qualifications/Skills:

  • Experience working with pediatric populations in a clinical, educational, or healthcare setting.

  • Strong knowledge of developmental milestones and pediatric speech-language disorders.

  • Possess and enhance up-to-date knowledge of treatment practices.

  • Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients & the ability to demonstrate compassion and empathy for patients.

  • Demonstrates a “servitude” attitude.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong time management skills to manage daily caseload.

  • Strong leadership qualities.

  • Basic computer skills.
