The "Missing Piece" is Here: PT, OT, and SLP Under One Roof
At our Lymphedema + Neurological Rehab Center (LNRC), our mission has always been to provide the most comprehensive care for patients with complex medical needs. We are proud to reach a major milestone!
With the hiring of our new Speech-Language Pathologist, LNRC is now a fully multidisciplinary clinic, offering the "Triple Threat" of rehabilitation:
Physical Therapy (PT)
Occupational Therapy (OT)
Speech-Language Pathology (SLP)
Why the "Triple Threat" Matters for Your Recovery
When a patient is recovering from a stroke, TBI, or battling lymphedema, their symptoms don't exist in a vacuum. A swallowing problem (SLP) often coincides with difficulty using utensils (OT) or balance issues (PT).
Coordinated Care: Our therapists now collaborate in the same building, ensuring your treatment plan is seamless. No more repeating your medical history at three different offices.
Lymphedema & SLP Integration: For patients with head and neck lymphedema, having an SLP on-site is a game-changer. We can now manage internal swelling while simultaneously treating the resulting speech and swallowing difficulties.
Neuro-Centric Approach: Our neurological rehab is now complete. We address the physical body, the activities of daily living, and the cognitive-linguistic functions of the brain all in one visit.
Answering Your Toughest Recovery Questions
When facing a new diagnosis or a slow recovery, many patients and caregivers find themselves searching for answers to very specific concerns. Our expanded team is here to provide the clinical expertise for the questions you’ve been asking:
"How do I regain my speech after a stroke when words feel stuck?" We specialize in Aphasia and Apraxia, using neurological rewiring techniques to help you find your words again.
"Why do I keep coughing when I drink thin liquids?" This is a common sign of Dysphagia (swallowing difficulty). We provide safety screenings and muscle retraining to make eating and drinking a joy again, not a risk.
"Can therapy help with 'brain fog' and memory loss after a medical event?" Yes. Our SLPs provide cognitive-linguistic therapy to sharpen focus, improve memory, and help you manage daily tasks.
"My voice sounds different after my cancer treatment; can it be fixed?" Especially for those managing head and neck lymphedema, we offer specialized vocal and swallow therapy to restore the quality of your voice.
